Session Description: Addressing the needs of learners from across the spectrum of health professions was a long-term strategic goal of Harvard Medical School. Emerging from the pandemic and facing the possibility of two reaccreditations (ANCC and ACCME) in two years, leadership made the decision to jump in with both feet and seek Joint Accreditation. In this session, the team responsible for HMS’ successful Joint Accreditation application will discuss the journey—from the initial idea that JA was possible to the final accreditation decision—with the hopes of encouraging other providers who are on the fence to “burn the boats” and go for Joint Accreditation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key stakeholders, curricula and administrative process for a possible joint accreditation application submission
  • Classify current course offerings from respective institutions
  • Organize a game plan for JA application
