Virginia Riggall is a regional Senior Clinical Practice Consultant for The Permanente Medical Group Regional Risk and Patient Safety Department. She holds a variety of degrees including an Associate degree in Accounting, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Advance Practice Nursing as an Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialists, and a Post-Master’s degree in Nursing Education. Dr. Riggall also holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice with an emphasis on interprofessional collaboration from St. John Fisher College. In addition to her academic accomplishments, she holds several certifications including, Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist Adult-Gerontology certification from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and a Certified Profession in Patient Safety from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement. She is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer and has completed advanced TeamSTEPPS training.
She has 26 years of clinical experience working in critical care, nursing education, and leadership. Her expertise includes developing and implementing interprofressional educational programs to improve patient safety culture.
