Industry Support Demystified: Proven Tactics for Success (Level 1)

Session Description: In this Alliance 2024 session, faculty will educate learners about best practices and insights into securing educational grant support for CME/CE activities. This session is intended for learners who have little or no experience securing educational grant support for CME activities. The faculty will include 1-2 representatives from a MECC as well as 1 from an industry supporter.

The faculty will give learners an overview and insight into grants and industry support, sharing their unique perspectives and experience. The session will provide learners with a background into the current and historical funding landscape, and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to develop a compelling and effective educational grant request. It will also help learners manage compliance criteria and industry supporter requirements for an approved grant.

The topics covered in this session include a discussion of the various sources of educational support for CME activities, the current and historical funding landscape, needs assessment/learning objective development and education planning, grant proposal development and common required documents, the grant submission process, compliance criteria and required contracts for supported activities, and grant management, including status updates, interim/final outcomes and the final reconciliation.
