Custom-Fit Learning: Disrupting the One-Size-Fits-All Norm (Level 3)

Session Description: Building on the session presented at last year's Alliance Annual Meeting on how to segment and reach audiences to affect change, this session will further delve into the concept of audience targeting to understand how the needs of specific audiences must be considered in the content of an activity for maximum educational impact. Alliance members who are involved in the development of content for multiple target audiences will gain practical strategies and actionable insights to enhance the effectiveness of their own educational programs. Familiarity with the 2023 session will be useful, but not necessary to receive full value from this session.

In this session, presenters will examine content development for different audiences and practice settings, emphasizing relevance as a key component of motivational design. Through an engaging and participatory format, participants will acquire actionable insights into identifying the individual needs of their target audiences, designing accessible activities, and achieving positive outcomes through tailored education. A case study in obesity will be presented as a real-world example of creating impactful education for 3 related, yet diverse groups.
